Symptoms
The light pulses blue and the console never shows a picture, or it powers itself off.
Likely cause
It’s a symptom, not a single fault. It can be the HDMI port or its chip, the power supply, the hard drive, or a board-level fault around the processor.
What we do
We test each in turn (storage, the HDMI path, the power supply and the board), so you only pay to fix the fault you actually have.

Overheating & jet-engine fan

Symptoms
The fan gets loud minutes into a game, blows hot air, or the console shuts down with an overheating warning.
Likely cause
Years of dust in the heatsink, dried-out thermal paste and worn fans. The PS4 Pro is especially prone.
What we do
Fan replacement where needed, fresh thermal paste and a full deep clean, usually done within a day.

Won’t turn on or restarts by itself

Symptoms
No power at all, a beep then off, or random restarts.
Likely cause
A failing power supply (very common), surge damage, or the touch-sensitive power and eject buttons on the original PS4.

No HDMI signal

Symptoms
The console powers on but the TV shows nothing, or the picture flickers.
Likely cause

Symptoms
Won’t read discs, ejects them on its own, beeps, or won’t take a disc in.
Likely cause
A worn laser, a jammed loading mechanism, or a faulty eject sensor on the original PS4.

Slow console or failing hard drive

Symptoms
Long loading screens, freezing, or “corrupted data” errors.
Likely cause
An ageing mechanical hard drive.

What causes the PS4 blue light of death?
A pulsing blue light with no picture can come from a faulty HDMI port or HDMI chip, a failing power supply, a bad hard drive, or a board-level fault. It isn’t one specific failure, so proper diagnosis matters. We test each possibility at component level before quoting.

How much does it cost to fix a PS4 in Durban?
